For a Zune Kiosk Demo project, 3d assets for the Zune accessories were needed. Existing photography didn’t fit with the design style we had chosen for the demo so it was decided to use 3d models and create our own.

I took CAD files and converted them to NURBS models in 3ds Max using nPower PowerNURBS at which point I simplified the models, textured and lit them. They came out so well vendors desired to use the renders instead of actual photos of the accessories.

Simple exercise but was fun.
